Computerized Adaptive Test · All NCLEX-RN Content Areas
The real NCLEX-RN uses Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT), where an algorithm estimates your ability level after every question using Item Response Theory (IRT). When the computer reaches 95% confidence that your ability is clearly above or below the passing standard, the exam ends — anywhere between 85 and 150 questions.
Our Simulation Mode replicates this experience. The full Belt Exam runs the complete 85–150 question range; this free sample is a shortened 30–50 question version drawn from the same pool, using the same adaptive engine. Questions are tagged by difficulty (1–5) and shuffled across bands that mirror the NCLEX progression. A running ability estimate adjusts after each answer: correct answers raise it, incorrect answers lower it. Once the minimum questions are reached, the engine checks whether the estimate has crossed a confidence threshold. If so, the sample ends early — just like the real thing.
Practice Mode disables the early cutoff entirely. You see all 50 sample questions regardless of performance, making it ideal for content review and building endurance. Both modes provide the same detailed score breakdown, NCLEX category analysis, and question-by-question review at the end.
